Not many children enjoy having their nails cut, here
is a short rhyme which can be said whilst the job is being done. No only does it
take their mind of what you are doing but it also helps them learn the days of the week.
Cut them on Monday, you cut them for
Cut them on Tuesday, you cut them for
Cut them on Wednesday, you cut them for
Cut them on Thursday, a new pair of
Cut them on Friday, you cut them for
Cut them of Saturday, see your true
Cut them on Sunday, you cut them for
For all the next week you'll be ruled by the devil.
little piggy" - This is a good old favourite which can be great fun if
played when drying a small child after it's bath. As you are saying it you
"tweak" each toe in turn, starting with the largest:-
This little piggy went to market.
This little piggy stayed at home.
This little piggy had roast beef.
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went "wheee wheeee wheee"
all the way home.
Whilst saying "wheee,
whee, whee all the way
home" you run your fingers up their chest and tickle them under the chin.
